Director Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

400 bed Tertiary Care Facility, Magnet Designated 3 times, Faith-based Hospital, Award Winning culture – Top 100 Hospitals in America, 1 of 8 hospitals in a statewide healthcare network.

$200+ Million expansion includes new NICU providing comprehensive care to high-risk newborns in a Level III, 32 bed NICU with new state of the art equipment including Spacelabs monitors.

As the Director Neonatal Intensive Care Unit you will:

  • Provide assurance of culturally sensitive, high quality patient care in accordance with evidence based practice, current research and standards of nursing practice,
  • Form partnerships within nursing and across other disciplines to encourage excellence in service and care,
  • Be an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and support an environment focused on healing and wellness,
  • Assist in development of nursing standards of practice, policies that improve patient outcomes, apply evidence based practice and nationally recognized professional standards consistent with current nursing research findings,
  • Support staff participation and empowerment through shared governance / employee empowerment throughout department as evidenced by outcomes of a functioning unit based team,
  • Assure high quality customer service from department and individual staff, and monitor according to patient satisfaction indicators. Create action plan to address and improve patient satisfaction scores, and
  • Work with department staff to incorporate PI goals into unit based on team efforts to address interdepartmental issues and improvement opportunities.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Masters Preferred
  • 3-5 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience
  • 3 years management experience
